Swedish and Los Angeles-based The Nuttery Entertainment has revealed the gameplay for its much-anticipated game Whiskey & Zombies in a new trailer. At the same time, the studio has announced a costume contest at San Diego Comic-Con where gamers and zombie-fans can become one of the undead in the game by dressing up as a southern zombie.

The trailer lays out the simple stay-drunk-to-stay-alive premise and showcases the zombie apocalyptic, top-down, 4-person co-op gameplay. Using a fan-centric development strategy The Nuttery opened up its process to gamers at this year’s E3 and Amazing! Las Vegas Comic Con. At the events, the public got the opportunity to try out Whiskey & Zombies first-hand and give their feedback and suggestions.

It was incredible to see the response from the hardcore gamer fans. We had tons of positive feedback but we also walked away with some excellent suggestions of how to make it better. We are still iterating on the core of the game so we have no problems incorporating these comments. Putting one’s creation in the hands of gamers this early might be scary but it’s also quite exciting to see what they come up with

The next stop for the Whiskey ‘n’ Zombies roadshow will be Comic-Con International: San Diego where The Nuttery will give comic-con goers a chance to be immortalized as a zombie in the game. In partnership with The Zombie Walk: San Diego, gamers and fans of the undead alike will have the chance to get their real-life costume character of a southern zombie made into a model for the upcoming game.

We are incredibly stoked to be partnering with the San Diego Zombie Walk for this amazing cosplay contest that gives zombie fans and gamers a real chance to have their creation forever brought to life inside the game. Since teasing the contest we have already had an amazing response from zombie cosplay lovers sending us incredible pictures of southern zombie costumes. We can’t wait until Saturday to see all of their amazing creations and announce the winners
